Minor Planet Photometry - from images to data
1 : Astronomical Institute of Romania
The quantity of light reflected by a minor planet and its variation in time gives us informations about the shape and the synodic period of the physical body. Minor planet photometry must take into account a number of factors, from image reductions to the sky motions of the object. A short demonstration of observing techniques and data reduction with real data will be presented. The end game of the lecture is a minor planet light curve from which the synodic period can be detected.
