The Near-Earth Asteroids are fascinating objects which are issued from the main belt asteroid zone, still enclose information upon the formation of the Solar System and regularly approach the internal part of this system, with the risk to impact planets, including the Earth. This introductory talk will give generalities upon these objects, physical and dynamical properties, and upon some real impact events occured or future close approaches. The following sessions during the week will detail more these topics.
